Dr. Kim has been practicing pediatric dentistry in the St. Louis area for 30 years. When Dr. Emily was in high school, she expressed an interest in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Kim offered her a summer position as a dental assistant to get familiar with the profession. Dr. Emily assisted in his office throughout college. Dr. Kim remained Dr. Emily's mentor throughout her training in dental school and residency. After many years of schooling, Dr. Emily came back to the St. Louis area to work with Dr. Kim at Midwest Pediatric Dentistry as well as at St. Louis Children's Hospital. Dr. Kamath has now joined the team at Midwest Pediatric Dentistry, and has been practicing in the area since 2015!

Dr. Kim moved to St. Louis from California to attend dental school at Washington University School of Dental Medicine. There, he met his wife Maria. After dental school, he completed a residency program in Pediatric Dentistry and received a Master of Science degree in dentistry from The Ohio State University. After moving back to St. Louis, Dr. Kim taught at Washington University School of Dental Medicine until the school closed and opened his private practice.

Dr. Kim has extensive experience in caring for not only healthy children but also children with special needs, such as autism spectrum disorder and cerebral palsy. He also treats medically complex children with conditions like cancer and congenital heart disease. Dr. Kim is the medical director for the dental clinic at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and splits his time caring for children at that clinic as well as in his private practices. Dr. Kim is the dentist on the craniofacial team at the hospital. One of his favorite responsibilities affiliated with the team is working with infants that are born with a cleft lip and palate. Dr. Kim works side by side with the plastic surgeons to complete nasoalveolar molding. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and American Dental Association.

In Dr. Kim's limited free time, you can find him acting as a handy man, following his son on the news, traveling to Columbia to visit his daughter or trying various cuisines throughout the St. Louis area.

Dr. Emily is originally from Troy, IL – just across the river. She attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI for both undergrad and dental school. She completed her pediatric dental residency in Yakima, WA. While in Washington, Dr. Emily completed a certificate in Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities. This program strives to create "a world in which all children with special health care needs will achieve their full potential." Along with Dr. Kim, Dr. Emily splits her time caring for patients at St. Louis Children's Hospital. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and American Dental Association. Dr. Emily is currently serving on the board for the Greater St. Louis Dental Society as well as a consultant for the Committee on Special Health Care Needs for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Emily is board-certified and committed to creating a dental environment that meets each child’s needs. She is dedicated to creating a fun and enriching experience for your child. In addition to tending to little smiles, Emily loves spending time with her husband Corey and dog Henry, volunteering for Special Olympics, traveling to see friends across the country and singing Disney princess songs.

Dr. Kamath, or “Dr. K”, is our newest board-certified pediatric dentist! She was born and raised in New Jersey, graduated from New York University with a degree in Anthropology, and earned her dental degree from Columbia University in NYC. During her training, Dr. Kamath was engaged in community outreach, student government, advocacy, and mentorship. She went on to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, where she was trained in a wide array of behavior management techniques to help ease every child into the dental office. Dr. Kamath is also fluent in Spanish and has volunteered her services on outreach trips to Honduras and Guatemala. When not in the office, she serves as Clinical Adjunct Faculty at A.T. Still University Missouri School of Dental and Oral Health, training 3rd and 4th year dental students in pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Kamath understands the need to create a calming and individualized environment for each little patient. Aside from fighting mouth monsters and sugar bugs, she enjoys traveling, singing, and experimenting with healthy treats in the kitchen. Dr. Kamath is excited to help build a dental home for you and your family here at Midwest Pediatric Dentistry!
