Dr. Kim moved to St. Louis from California to attend dental school at Washington University School of Dental Medicine. There, he met his wife Maria. After dental school, he completed a residency program in Pediatric Dentistry and received a Master of Science degree in dentistry from The Ohio State University. After moving back to St. Louis, Dr. Kim taught at Washington University School of Dental Medicine until the school closed and opened his private practice.
Dr. Kim has extensive experience in caring for not only healthy children but also children with special needs, such as autism spectrum disorder and cerebral palsy. He also treats medically complex children with conditions like cancer and congenital heart disease. Dr. Kim is the medical director of the dental clinic at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and splits his time caring for children at that clinic as well as in his private practices. Dr. Kim is the dentist on the craniofacial team at the hospital. One of his favorite responsibilities affiliated with the team is working with infants that are born with a cleft lip and palate. Dr. Kim works side by side with the plastic surgeons to complete Naso-alveolar molding. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and American Dental Association.
In Dr. Kim's limited free time, you can find him acting as a handyman, following his son on the news, traveling to Columbia to visit his daughter or trying various cuisines throughout the St. Louis area.
