Meet the Doctors

All professionals at Midwest Pediatric Dentistry maintain the highest levels of accreditation and pursue ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest trends in the pediatric field. Read on to learn more about our staff's experience and training.

Dr. Kim has been practicing pediatric dentistry in the St. Louis area for 30 years.


Dr. Kim moved to St. Louis from California to attend dental school at Washington University School of Dental Medicine. There, he met his wife Maria. After dental school, he completed a residency program in Pediatric Dentistry and received a Master of Science degree in dentistry from The Ohio State University. After moving back to St. Louis, Dr. Kim taught at Washington University School of Dental Medicine until the school closed and then he expanded his private practice.

Dr. Kim has been practicing pediatric dentistry in the St. Louis area for over 30 years. He has extensive experience in caring for not only healthy children but also children with special needs, such as autism spectrum disorder and cerebral palsy. He also treats medically complex children with conditions like cancer and congenital heart disease. Dr. Kim is the medical director of the dental clinic at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and splits his time caring for children at that clinic as well as in his private practices. Dr. Kim is the dentist on the craniofacial team at the hospital. One of his favorite responsibilities affiliated with the team is working with infants that are born with a cleft lip and palate. Dr. Kim works side by side with the plastic surgeons to care for these patients. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and American Dental Association.

In Dr. Kim's limited free time, you can find him acting as a handyman, following his son on the news, traveling to Chicago to visit his children or trying various cuisines throughout the St. Louis area.

Dr. Kim sees pediatric dentistry patients at the Hazelwood and Dardenne Prairie offices. At the Saint Louis Children's Hospital office he is only accepting children with complex conditions.

Dr. Daniela Riegel completed her dental education at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, IL and earned her D.M.D. degree in 2013. After graduation, Dr. Riegel worked as a general dentist for 5 when she learned that treating children was her true passion! Dr. Riegel then decided to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry and she attended the St. Louis University Center for Advanced Dental Education for her specialty training. She earned her Pediatric Dentistry Certificate and Masters of Science in Dentistry in 2020. During residency, Dr. Riegel focused on all phases of pediatric dentistry including comprehensive oral health care for the well child, and the child with special health care needs, from infancy and childhood through adolescence. Dr. Riegel is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Missouri Dental Association and Greater St. Louis Dental Society. Dr. Riegel is also fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

In her spare time, Dr. Riegel enjoys spending time with her husband Brant and their two children, Isabela and Trent. They love swimming, going on walks and bike rides, playing disk golf, watching movies, playing board games and building with LEGO bricks.

Meet the Staff


When calling our Hazelwood office, Kathy is the kind voice you will often hear first. In her free time, Kathy enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, hiking, gardening, cooking, and trying new recipes.


Our office coordinator in Dardenne Prairie, Chico, is no stranger to the dental field, as her father was a dentist. She ensures that families understand the treatment plans for every child. Chico enjoys seeing and knowing our patients are getting the best treatment. She enjoys gardening, reading, hiking with her dogs and spending time with her two grandchildren.


Megan is one of our dental assistants and the team member that has been with our team the longest. She has been in the dental business for nineteen years and with Dr. Kim for twenty years. Megan loves working with kids and watching them grow. On the weekends, Megan can be found boating on the lake or eating Mexican food.


Lynn did her dental assisting internship with Dr. Kim and has stayed with us ever since. Lynn is the first to admit that she wasn’t the best dental patient as a kid and enjoys making the dental experience much more pleasant than what she remembers.


Nicole has 22 years of experience in the dental field. She loves working with patients of all ages. When she is not in the office, Nicole likes to go shopping and she also enjoys spending time with her daughter and family.
